Green Compass support
Green Compass is a guide to sustainable places near you: thrift and vintage shops, organic markets, repair cafés, zero-waste and bulk stores. It is published by Stichting Le@f.
Getting started
- Open the app. You start on the map.
- Allow location access if you want places near you — or search for a city by name.
- Filter by category to see only what you are looking for.
- Tap a place for the details, and save the ones you want to keep.
Location access
Green Compass asks for your location only when you are about to use it, and uses it only on your device. Turn it on or off in iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Green Compass.
Without location access the app still works: search a city by name and browse from there.
A place is missing, or the details are wrong
Our place information comes from OpenStreetMap and other open sources. The fastest fix is to add or correct the place on OpenStreetMap — it will flow into the app. You can also mail us and we will look at it.
Is my data shared?
No. Green Compass has no account and collects no data. See the privacy policy for the details.
Does it work offline?
The place list and the places you saved live on your device. Map tiles need a network connection, as with any map app.
Deleting your data
Nothing is stored on our side, so there is nothing to delete on request. To remove everything from your device, delete the app. If you allowed location access, you can turn it off in iOS Settings as described above.
